Top 5 Sources of News and Information

The topic five sources of news and information I had chosen were Snapchat, Instagram, Facebook, Tik Tok, and Life360. I use each of these apps on a day to day basis as well as many others around me.

#1 Snapchat

The first social media platform that I have decided to go with is snapchat. I wouldn't say it is the best way of finding out information however, I think it can be pretty helpful in two different ways. One being that it has something called a "discover page." Which basically is a page that provides different stories or popular news. Sometimes it can show older news as well. Another way of finding news out from this platform is by viewing other peoples stories which often you can see things like what is going on today. Depending on what the story post is it is more than likely to be shared by whoever follows you among friends and others.

#2 Instagram

Personally, I do not think Instagram would be the best way to get information however, I do think it is one way to get insights on things and can be one type of way to find out things going on around them. I think instagram is a good app because people aim towards posting more of the adventures they go on and what is going on wherever they are at that moment and sometimes it can encourage others to visit that place as well. One way I do find it a little helpful is because you can follows accounts such as the network channels or certain people/celebrities you would find interest in.

#3 FaceBook

I do not use this app as often although I find it very useful when it comes to gaining information or daily news happening today as well as throughout the week. It is very similar to instagram yet Facebook has been around a lot longer then instagram has. Facebook also provides websites that can help people look for a job which from personal experience I can say is very useful. Most emergency departments are more active on this platform and they post daily with more interesting content letting them know what is happening around them. There are also little widgets that will automatically take you to things such as the marketplace, feeds, groups to join, things you have saved, and so much more. When first using it, it is a little complicated to figure out because it has more places you can click out to find out new things that you may want to know.

#4 Tik Tok

I am on Tik Tok i'd say pretty much a majority of my day. This app in my opinion is the most helpful and useful app to have when it comes to finding out most news or information. Over 1.04 billion people in the world use this social media platform and plenty of people also find it very useful. It allows you to search pretty much anything you would like with multiple sources/videos that pop up. I think this is the best app when looking into things because everyone that posts on this app tend to post things such as trends, politics, daily news, and more. Everyday is something new and normally the first place you hear about something important 99% of the time it comes from this app before they hear it from parents or friends. Although, sometimes things people say or post isn't always true it could be for reasons such as to twist peoples words,  just for entertainment, or even to get their views up on their own accounts. I would recommend this social media platform to others because I think it is beneficial as well as entertaining.

#5 Life360

Lastly, the last app that I would recommend to people is Life360. This is an app that allows people to track others with their permission. I would say this is an app that is not useful to locating information because it's more an app for mainly parents to be able to track down their kids or even just friends to be able to have each others location for example if they go somewhere they are not familiar with they could have one of their friends be able to find them. Some benefits of this app include, it helps family and friends stay connected, lets other people alerted when the person who owns the phone is lost, and it can detect things like your speed, car accidents and more. You can share this app with others which can encourage others to get the app themselves.
